The Camping du Lac de Carouge
Camping du Lac de Carouge is located on the shores of the lake of the same name in Savoie, between Chambéry and Albertville.
Family-Friendly Campground in Savoie: Services, Recreation, and Activities
A 3-star family campsite in Saint-Pierre-d’Albigny, Camping du Lac de Carouge features 85 pitches on completely flat ground: 57 pitches for tents, trailers, and RVs, and 28 rental units (mobile homes, cabins, and lodge tents). The lake beach is a one-minute walk away, there’s a heated swimming pool on site, and the Dent d’Arclusaz towers over the campground from the Bauges massif.

A 6 × 15 m pool heated to 27°C, with a depth ranging from 0.80 m to 1.30 m, facing the Dent d’Arclusaz. Beach entry for children, accessible to people with limited mobility, underwater bench, and a 250 m² beach area with lounge chairs. Open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., free of charge and reserved for campground guests.
The lake beach is a one-minute walk away
Lac de Carouge has been awarded the Blue Flag certification. In July and August, there is supervised swimming from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with water temperatures ranging from 17 to 22°C. Pedal boats and stand-up paddleboards can be rented on the beach from the service provider located at the recreation center. Fishing is also available from the shore.
Mobile homes, lodges, and pitches
Available for rent: 2- and 3-bedroom mobile homes, with or without air conditioning, including VIP units with terraces facing the lake; 3-bedroom VIP lodge tents; Morea chalets; Nemo chalets, including one accessible to guests with limited mobility; and Bilbao studios for two.
For camping: Nature, Comfort, and Privilege pitches, separated by hedges and shaded.
In July and August, weekly rentals from Saturday to Saturday. The rest of the season, minimum 2 nights.
Facilities and Services
New restrooms, a laundry room with a washer and dryer, playgrounds for children, a snack bar, fresh bread every morning, and Wi-Fi access.
Activities and Recreation Near the Campground
Starting from the campground: hiking in the Bauges and direct access to the cycle route between Albertville and Chambéry. Our partners, AN Rafting Savoie and EssaOnia – Esprit Rafting, offer rafting trips from bases located a 50-minute drive away. The region is also ideal for canyoning, via ferrata,treetop adventure courses, and paragliding.
Campground Activities
Kids’ club and kids’ disco; sports tournaments, entertainment nights, and Savoyard meals for the whole family. In July and August, the pool is open in the evening on Mondays, from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Explore Savoie from the campground
The campground is located on the sunny slope of the Combe de Savoie, between the vineyards and the Bauges massif, below Miolans Castle, which overlooks Saint-Pierre-d’Albigny. Chambéry is less than 30 minutes away, Montmélian and its Vine and Wine Museum are 12 km away, and Lake Bourget is easily accessible for a day trip.
