Camping Rhone Alpes: A magical place to visit.
An ideal location in the Rhone Alpes.
The 3-star Lac de Carouge campsite is located in Savoie, 23 km from Chambéry and Albertville in the heart of the Combe de Savoie. Its ideal position in the Rhône-Alpes region makes the 3-star Lac de Carouge campsite the ideal base for visiting the region on your next family holiday.
Rhone Alpes, a tourist region.
The Rhône Alpes region is one of the most popular tourist regions in France. It includes the departments of Savoie with Chambéry, Haute Savoie, Isère, Ain, Rhône, Drôme and Ardèche. In winter, thanks to its high snowfall, it is France’s most popular region for skiing.
But in summer, the region also boasts some very fine and often little-known attractions:
- Top-class spas (Aix Les Bains, Challes-les-eaux, Thonon-les-bains and Evian-Les-Bains)
- 3 of the 5 largest lakes in France: Lac Léman (or Lac de Genève for the Swiss), Lac d’Annecy and Lac du Bourget.
- Of course, other smaller, more intimate lakes such as Lac de Carouge, where our campsite is located, also contribute to the appeal of our region.
- No fewer than 9 regional or national nature parks , including the Vanoise and its marmots, the Bauges and many others…
- Gorges and rivers for activities such as canyoning, rafting, hydro-speed or canoeing, on rivers such as the Rhône, the Isère or the Ardèche gorges.
- There are many mountain ranges and valleys in the Rhône-Alpes region, particularly in Savoie and Haute Savoie. Among those in the Alps, the ones closest to the campsite include the Bauges, Belledonne, Chartreuse and Vanoise, as well as the Maurienne and Tarentaise valleys and the Combe de Savoie linking Chambéry and Albertville.
- You can’t mention the Rhone-Alpes region without mentioning Mont Blanc, the roof of Europe with its exceptional landscapes, and the whole of its massif in the heart of the Alps is a delight for the eyes.
A region strongly marked by gastronomy:
– Speaking of delights, let’s talk gastronomy: first of all, Lyon, the capital of French gastronomy, with its little bouchons and its charcuterie. Savoie is not to be outdone, of course, with its Savoyard fondue, tartiflette, raclette, crozets and, above all, Diots, which we will be delighted to introduce to you at our convivial evenings in July and August.
– To accompany all this, for the more reasonable among you, we suggest our very good Savoyard fruit juices made from pear, apple or grape. The Rhone Alpes region, and Savoie in particular, is particularly renowned for its wine. Mondeuse, Jacquères, Apremont and Chignin Bergeron are just some of the many appellations we’ll be delighted to help you discover.
– Finally, lovers of art and culture won’t be disappointed either, as several towns are of great architectural interest, such as Lyon, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and Grenoble. There are many museums, old citadels and forts, and we’ll be delighted to tell you all about them when you come to the Lac de Carouge campsite.
So don’t hesitate to rent one of our rental structures (such as our chalets or mobile homes) or bring your tent to one of our spacious pitches to enjoy this magnificent region.
Each landscape is more grandiose than the next.
Situated between the Massif Central to the west and the Alps to the east, the Rhône-Alpes region offers exceptional views of the power of nature. Our campsite in Savoie at the foot of the Massif des Bauges in the Alps offers visitors a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains.
