Privacy Policy — Camping Chat

The Camping Chat app is an internal professional tool reserved for staff at Camping du Lac de Carouge. It enables the team to respond to messages from visitors received via the campsite’s online messaging system (website chat, email, third-party messaging services). It is not intended for the general public.

2. Data processed by the app

The app processes three categories of data:

• Operator account: username (email) and password, used solely to authenticate the operator. A session token (JWT) is stored on the device to maintain the connection.
• Device notification token: a technical identifier (Expo/Google push token) is stored in order to send the operator notifications of new messages. It does not allow the user to be personally identified.
• Conversation data: in order to carry out their duties, the operator views the messages exchanged with visitors and the information they have provided (name, email address, language, approximate country/town, message content and attachments). This data is entered by the visitors themselves on the campsite’s website; the app is used solely to display it and respond to it.

3. Purposes

• To authenticate operators and secure access.
• To enable messages from visitors to be viewed and replied to.
• To notify the operator in real time of the arrival of a new message or a new conversation.

4. Hosting and subcontractors

The data is hosted on a private server (Synology NAS) managed by the campsite, accessible via chat.lac-savoie-camping.fr. The following third-party services may be used:

• Google / Expo — delivery of push notifications to the device.
• Microsoft (Outlook / Graph) — sending and receiving follow-up emails.
• DeepL / MyMemory — on-demand translation of messages.

No data is sold or used for advertising purposes.

5. Retention period

Conversations are retained for as long as necessary to manage customer relations and handle enquiries, after which they are deleted or anonymised. The operator account is retained for as long as the individual remains part of the team.

6. Your rights

In accordance with the GDPR, every data subject has the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict the processing of, and object to the processing of their data. These rights may be exercised by writing to [email protected]. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).

7. Security

Access to the application is protected by a password and a session token. Communications with the server are encrypted (HTTPS). Access to visitor data is restricted to authenticated operators.
