Camping du Lac de Carouge is a 3-star campsite in Saint-Pierre-d’Albigny, in the Combe de Savoie, right across from the lake beach. This former gravel pit, which was in operation until about fifty years ago, has been transformed into a 20-hectare recreational area offering swimming, pedal boats, stand-up paddleboarding, fishing, and hiking, all against the backdrop of the Bauges Mountains.
Swimming Safely
In front of the lifeguard station, for beginner swimmers: maximum depth of 1.50 m.
Marked by buoys, it is more than 3 meters deep: it is reserved for strong swimmers.
Supervised swimming takes place daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in July and August. Access to the island is prohibited.

Pedal boats and paddleboards
Seasonal rentals at the recreation center
A rental company that has been operating at the base for four years offers pedal boats and stand-up paddleboards: take a family trip around the lake, or go paddleboarding early in the morning when the water is still calm.
Pike and Perch
East shore and small reserved lake
Classified as a Category2 lake, it is home to pike, perch, rudd, and tench. Carp, however, may only be caught on a catch & release basis.
The Lake Walk
1.6 km, accessible to people with disabilities
A walk around the lake—which is completely flat—featuring a playground for children and a picnic area equipped with grills.
A lake, a mountain, a castle
From the lakeshore, the view stretches toward the Bauges and the hillside, where Miolans Castle stands out—a medieval fortress overlooking the Combe de Savoie. On calm days, the lake becomes a mirror.

L'Arclusaz
UNESCO Global Geopark of Les Bauges
An iconic mountain in the Bauges massif, the Arclusaz is reflected in the lake as soon as the wind dies down. The Bauges massif is designated an UNESCO Global Geopark for the richness of its geological heritage.

The Natura 2000 Reserve
Eastern part of the lake
The eastern part of the lake, which is less developed, is designated as a Natura 2000 site. If you stay on the trails, you may spot great crested grebes, coots, or herons.

The Saint-Pierre-d'Albigny train station is about 1 km from the lake, with regular service from Chambéry.
Lake or pool? No need to choose
In the summer, the lake water ranges from 17 to 22 °C: perfect for the brave and experienced swimmers. For those who feel the cold, little ones, and anyone who takes it slow when getting into the water, the campground’s heated swimming pool stays at 27 °C. And for a good night’s sleep, we offer mobile homes, lodge tents, and cabins.
A 6 × 15 m pool heated to 27°C, with a beach entry for children and a sun deck with lounge chairs. Open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; free for campground guests.
